With IOT Futura LDS, Labs are able to use aspherical semi-finished blanks in their free-form production. It is specially recommended to use this option for positive single vision lenses to make the most of free-form technology and thickness control. In traditional manufacturing, using aspherical semifinished blanks results in thinner positive lenses, but with a loss of lateral visual acuity. Due to the sophistication in surface calculation offered by IOT Futura, it is now possible to bemefit from aspherical semi-finished blanks without losing high optical quality. Biaspheric free-form Single Vision lenses are thinner than traditional and much better in optical quality.

* Note: For calculating the back surface for a Biaspherical it is necessary to have all the information about the description of the semi-finished aspheric blank. This information must be accurate, due to this IOT offers a service of measurement of aspheric semi-finshed blanks.
