Base Curve Flexibility
Conventional lenses are restricted to a limited range of base curves for each prescription. And this is so, because using a base curve either too flat or too steep in a conventional lens produces a high amount of oblique aberrations, and therefore small visual fields.
Digital Ray-Path technology extends the range of base curves available for each prescription because ti compensates unwanted aberrations. For example, the range of prescriptions that can be made on a curved base, for sunglasses or sport frames, is extended. Or, wearers with strong anisometropies can now wear the same base curve on both eyes and still get better visual quality.
This is one of the main advantages of user customized free-form lenses.
